©. These tables utilize large reclaimed and
re-purposed woods including barn wood and beetle kill
pine.
In most cases none of the wood components have been
machined square to preserve the original
band saw and head rig saw kerfs, mortise pockets, nail
holes, splits, weathered grains as well as multi-colored
faded paints. Tediously
skilled brushing, detailing and
sanding removes most of the roughness and
produces a smoother surface. Specially formulated
water clear "green guard" flat sheen top coat finishes
retain the original weathered wood look and add excellent
surface protection. Double mortise construction at
each joint are securely assembled with slip tenons, high
strength epoxy and then pinned with square head blacksmith
forged bolts. This difficult time consuming type of
construction and joinery is absolutely critical in producing a sturdy
quality product when working with non
dimensional woods. Other sizes and designs are
available based on current inventory of materials.
